Senator Houser Meets with Member of 4-H Council

 

DES MOINES – Today Senator Hubert Houser (R-Carson) met with Megan Fischer, a member of the 2005-2006 Iowa 4-H Council.  Fischer, a senior from Menden, IA was assisting with the 4-H Day at the Legislature.

 

Some 400 members and volunteers from across the state served omelets to the legislators in the morning and then met with legislators to discuss five topics that have pending legislation of particular interest to the members. 

 

The 4-Hers also showcased their community service projects in the Rotunda.

 

The five issues of particular interest include: extra-curricular eligibility, drug abuse and criminal justice; biotechnology, bullying and the Asian Bird Flu.
