Senator Wieck visits with the Lawton-Bronson Community Schools girls’ basketball team

(Des Moines) – Senator Ron Wieck (R-Sioux City) along with Representatives Huseman met with the Lawton-Bronson girls’ basketball team and their coaches this week during a break in their tournament schedule.

“It’s great to have the Lawton-Bronson girls’ basketball team competing at such a high level,” said Senator Wieck. “They’re a very dedicated and determined group of young people.”

Senator Wieck and Rep Huseman gave the team a tour of the Senate and House chambers and made a special effort to introduce the girls to the high school students serving as pages in the legislature.  “It would be great to have some additional basketball talent among our Senate Pages,” commented Senator Wieck.

Lawton-Bronson girls’ basketball team made it to the state tournament semi-final game only to be defeated by the number one ranked Mannilla-IKM.
