Senator Wieck Meets with Students from Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn School

DES MOINES – Today Senator Wieck met with seven students from Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn High School.

These seven students came to the Capitol to discuss education issues with their Legislators. Students also were able to see the legislature, one of the three branches of government in action.

“It is not every day that I get to speak with Iowa’s youth. These students were prepared to talk to me about real issues in their school district,” said Senator Wieck. “I’m glad to see young people involved in the political process.”

Senator Wieck listened to the concerns of these students and also took the opportunity to teach them about how the state government works.

The students were accompanied by Renae Ogren, Guidance Counselor at Marcus-Meriden-Cleghorn High School.
