Senator Wieck Meets with Miss Rodeo Iowa Legislature

DES MOINES – Senator Ron Wieck (R – Sioux City) met with Erika Harlan , Miss Rodeo Iowa, at the Iowa Capitol today.

Erika, who is also from Fairfield, IA, will reign as Miss Rodeo Iowa until December 31, 2006. In that time she will have the opportunity to speak with many groups to promote the sport of Rodeo and the Western lifestyle that she loves. Near the end of her reign, she will compete in the Miss Rodeo America Pageant in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Erika and Senator Wieck discussed the construction of the $4 million equestrian center that Woodbury County is working to build in Moville, IA.

“I’m excited for the new equestrian center,” said Senator Wieck. “It will be an excellent addition to Moville.”

Erika, a junior at Iowa State, competed against six other contestants to earn the title of Miss Rodeo Iowa.
