Senator Zieman Meets with Howard County 4-H Group

DES MOINES – Today Senator Mark Zieman (R-Postville) met with five 4-H members and their 4-H leader at the Iowa Capitol. Barbie Tupy, Chelsea Friedrich, Maddi Friedrich, Chandra Weinacht, Katelyn Haw and their leader Toni Friedrich, all from Howard County, participated in the 4-H Day at the Legislature.

The 4-Hers showcased their community service projects in the Rotunda. Katelyn Haw’s project was a Community Technology Access Partnership. She hosted computer workshops to teach Senior Citizens about computers.

Some 400 members and volunteers from across the state served omelets to the legislators in the morning and then met with legislators to discuss five topics that have pending legislation of particular interest to the members.

The five issues of particular interest include: extra-curricular eligibility, drug abuse and criminal justice; biotechnology, bullying and the Asian Bird Flu.
